This policy explains what information Forknell Consulting, LLC collects through forknell.com, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and what choices you have.

Who we are

Forknell Consulting, LLC is a business and management consulting firm based in Fargo, North Dakota. For the purposes of this policy, we are the party responsible for information collected through this website.

Information we collect

We collect two kinds of information.

Information you give us. When you submit the contact form we collect your first name, last name, email address, area of interest, the content of your message, and your phone number if you choose to provide it.

Information collected automatically. When the form is submitted we also record your internet protocol (IP) address, your browser user agent string, the page that referred you, and the date and time. We collect this to detect and limit automated abuse of the form. If analytics are active on the site, we also collect standard usage information such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device type, and how you arrived at the site.

Why we collect it

• To respond to your inquiry and follow up about a possible engagement.
• To send you an automated confirmation that your message was received.
• To protect the form against automated submissions and abuse.
• To understand how the site is used so we can improve it.

We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not add you to a marketing list or send you newsletters.

Service providers

We use a small number of third parties to operate this site. Each one receives only what it needs to perform its function.

• Brevo delivers the notification and confirmation emails generated by the contact form.
• Google reCAPTCHA helps distinguish human submissions from automated ones. Its use is subject to the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
• Google Analytics may be used to measure site usage in aggregate. Where it is active, IP anonymization is enabled and advertising features are disabled by default.
• Our hosting provider stores the site and its database.

Cookies and similar technologies

This site uses a session cookie that is strictly necessary for the contact form to function securely. It carries no personal information and expires when you close your browser.

Where analytics are active, additional cookies may be set to measure usage. Analytics storage is enabled by default and advertising storage is denied by default. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking analytics cookies will not affect your ability to use this site or submit the form.

How long we keep information

Contact form submissions are retained for twenty-four months from the date of submission, after which they are deleted. If an inquiry leads to a client engagement, related records may be retained longer as part of our ordinary business records. Analytics data is retained according to the retention period configured in Google Analytics, which does not exceed fourteen months.

How information is protected

The site is served over an encrypted connection. Form submissions are transmitted over that encrypted connection and stored in a database that is not publicly accessible. Access to submissions is limited to Forknell Consulting and the technical personnel who maintain the site. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and rights

You may ask us to tell you what information we hold about you, correct information that is inaccurate, or delete information we hold about you. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act or the General Data Protection Regulation, including the right to know what categories of information we collect and the right to be free from discrimination for exercising your rights.

To make a request, use the contact form on our home page or write to privacy@forknell.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

Children

This site is intended for business use by adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of sixteen. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.

Links to other sites

This site may link to third party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to read their policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Material changes will be reflected here rather than communicated individually.
